Best breweries (brewery) to visit in Europe
67Best Beweries to visit in Europe
There are thousands of breweries to visit in Europe. I've been lucky enough to visit a few of them. The one brewery that I didn't end up visiting was the Heineken Brewery that was closed on the day I was in Amsterdam, Holland. I am not sure why we didn't stay another day so we could visit the brewery. I guess we were on a schedule.
I'll highlight some of the best breweries to visit. I haven't visited them all but I have definitely sampled the beer.
1. Heineken Brewery-Amsterdam, Holland Like the fish that got away I still remember when I was 18 and we arrived at the Heineken Factory and it was closed. It could be considered the most disappointing experience in my life to that point. I guess I had a pretty good upbringing. Thanks Mom and Dad.
2. Pilsner Urquell Brewery-Plzen, Czech Republic - My second favorite beer after Heineken. The original Pilsner from the Czech Republic. Plzen the town where the "Pilsner" name came from is a few hour drive from Prague. There is a one day tour that runs from Prague. This is a must for any beer drinker.
3.Carlsberg Beer- Copenhagen, Denmark "Probably the best beer in the world," is their tag line." This may be what the marketing department thinks but I think they are probably close to the mark. I did the tour of the brewery years ago. Worth a visit if you are in Copenhagen. They also may like Tubourg Beer which is really good as well.
4. Budvar Beer- The original Budwieser before the name was borrowed by a North American company of the same name. There is a trademark dispute but there is no disputing that this beer is tasty.
5. Hofbrauhaus Munich, Germany One of the best and most famous breweries in the world. It's located in Munich Germany. It's a place for tourists and hard core beer drinkers to have some fun. There's always an band playing. The place is so popular that it reserves tables for its regulars and posts their schedules on their website. If you can't make it to Germany there is a replica Hofbrauhaus in Las Vegas. I've been to the Munich one a few times and I can't wait to go to the Las Vegas Hofbrauhaus in the coming weeks. I'll make sure to take pictures. After visiting Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas I give it a thumbs up. Make sure you take a cab from the Strip because it's a solid 15-20 minute walk from the MGM Grand.
Whatever brewery you go to make sure to have fun and let me know if you've gone to other breweries around the world.
