The Whistler Blackcomb Snow Tube Park is open again for the 2011 season. Not a skiier or snowboarder? Looking to do something with the kids in Whistler, British Columbia. Look no further than the Whistler Tube Park on Blackcomb. Take the Whistler Excaliber Gondola up Blackcomb Mountain and get off at the first stop to walk to the Whistler Tube Park .
The snow tube park offers fun well into the evening. The snow tube park is lit at night and is open 7 days a week until April 2011. It usually opens up at the at the end of December each year. There is a Children's play area and a spectator area. There is a minimum height size for kids and a kids size tube for the little ones. There are 6-8 lanes that you can choose from. You can take the magic moving carpet to the top of the hill to minimize walking.
I've taken my 4 year old up since last year. I bring her snow suit, helmet and googles. Just bring warm clothes because you don't want the fun to end early if the kids get cold. You can get hot chocolate and there is an outdoor fireplace to warm up though. We usually go for one hour at a time. You can always go for longer than 1 hour if you want. This year I've taken my 2.5 year old. There is a minimum height requirement but we gave him a helmet and snow boots and he just met teh minimum.
There are two kids lanes that start halfway up the snow tube park. These are a good starting point. There are also different levels of difficulty ranging from Green (Beginner), Blue and Black (more difficult).
Make sure you check this place out. It's definitely the highlight for families that visit us. We also go on a regular basis on our own.
